Why do we write?

Torilu is a guide to places in Bahrain, and we check every place before we publish it: that it's open, that its hours are right, and that its phone number works. But a place is more than an address and opening hours. Behind every bakery are hands kneading dough before dawn, behind every small restaurant is a brave decision, and behind every dish we love is a story.

Those stories don't fit on a directory card, and that is why the articles section exists.

What will we write about?

The topics will be many and varied, but they revolve around people and places in Bahrain:

  • People's stories: a shop owner, a cook or a baker, how they started and what they learned along the way. We write these from real conversations with them.
  • Practical guides: where to go for Friday breakfast, a quiet evening out, or a family outing. Every place we mention is on Torilu and has been checked.
  • Food culture in Bahrain: the story behind what we eat and drink every day, from reliable sources.
  • Community topics: what matters to people in their daily lives and deserves to be written about with care.

How do we write?

We follow a few simple rules in every article:

  1. We don't make anything up. Every piece of information comes from a visit, from the place's owner, or from a reliable source we name.
  2. We write clearly and warmly, as if telling a friend, not filing a report.
  3. We put accuracy before speed. An article may take longer, but it is never published incomplete.
  4. We correct our mistakes. If you find something inaccurate, tell us through the contact page and we'll fix it.
